Background:  In February 2011, the Special Rapporteur invited comments and the Subcommittee on Older Women responded, informing him that there was no mention of older women and reminding him that CEDAW had adopted a General Recommendation 27 that spoke to the special health needs of older women.  The Special Rapporteur’s report of July 4, 2011 (A/HCR/18/37) now includes a paragraph on older women.
