Older Women
The goal of the Older Women Subcommittee is to advocate, educate, and promote the human rights, dignity, safety, and social inclusion of older women as valued and contributing members of their communities and the larger world. This work will be approached through an intersectional lens, recognizing and respecting the critical aspects of identity that include, at minimum, gender, age, culture, race, ethnicity, socioeconomics, ability, nationality. The basis for its work includes the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, the Beijing Declaration and Platform of Action, the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing, and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
